The
following is a very brief description of the progression of the Work of
unfoldment over several years from the perspective of the Diamond
Approach. This is not a linear progression through neatly defined
levels or stages but rather a process of deepening and unfoldment which
reflects individual capacities and needs.
One way to describe the process is that the Diamond Approach orients
around specific threads of inquiry. Some of these threads include:
The Nature of Personaliy and Essential Aspects of Being
This work is the foundation of the theory and practice of the Diamond
Approach. Using inquiry, meditation and other spiritual practices we
work with the lataif (subtle centers), releasing specific barriers to
the aspects of Compassion, Strength, Will, Love, Peace and Joy. The
precise methods of the Diamond Approach are used to open the Soul and
its inner Essence. The enneagram of the personality, the 'theory of
holes', and other techniques are used to address psychological
processes and patterns, and the inner critic.
Soul
We recognize, experience and free the living presence that is the Soul,
the individual consciousness that undergoes essential development.
Deeper Essential Aspects
These
aspects of Being are those most closely aligned to parental influences.
Associated with mother are Personal Love, Merging, Nourishment, and
Universal Love. We work with the Basic Trust that is needed for
loosening the identity from ego. Then, the aspects of Being commonly
associated with father are explored. These include Essential
Intelligence, Universal Will, Impeccability, and Existence. We also
explore the Diamond Body and Diamond Guidance.
The Pearl Beyond Price
The
development of the Soul to the point of essential individuation, is the
realization of the Personal Essence. Real autonomy, personal contact
and integration of one's external life with one's inner development are
all characteristics of the Pearl.
The Point
There
can be a tendency to identify with our ego self, even when we know our
true nature. Examining psychodynamic and existential barriers in depth,
enables the transition from ego identity to identity with Being, which
opens us to the boundless dimensions.
Beyond work on these issues, Diamond Approach groups continue to
explore deeper dimensions of Being depending on the unfolding process
of inquiry in each group.
